Drone Roof Inspection Services

Should I Get a Roof Inspection?

One of the most important parts of home inspection is the roof inspection. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the biggest limitations we have. Often, our ladders don’t reach the top of these roofs. Sometimes we can’t walk on roofs because it might be a slate roof or wood roof or a tile roof. And even if the ladder does reach, sometimes the pitch of the roof restricts us from walking on it and gaining access to all areas of the house.

With our drone roof inspection. We have no more limitations. We have the ability to get to the areas that can’t be viewed from the ladder, at the eaves, from the ground with binoculars. Our drone roof pilots have the ability to hover down close to the roof, surface above the chimneys and in areas that can’t be viewed anywhere else.

Inspecting your roof is one of the most important parts of a home inspection. Not only can a roof replacement be one of the largest expenses you can incur, but a leaky roof can cause major damage to the inside of your home as well. Moreover, a chimney could be hiding potential safety issues, and poor drainage from the roof could cause foundation damage and water infiltration into the basement.

A typical roof replacement could cost $15,000 for an average size home. But did you know that a stone, cedar or clay roof could cost $100,000 or more, depending on the size of the house? We often see roofs that were not properly installed and need significant repair or replacement prior to their average life expectancy. This can financially devastate homeowners if they’re not prepared.

At True VIew Home Inspections, we offer one of the only Drone Roof Inspection in the area. Using a drone to inspect your roof is not only helpful, but necessary in some cases – such as with cedar roof shingles, slate/stone roofs, and clay roofs. These roofs cannot be walked on, so they are very difficult to inspect without the drone.

Most home inspection companies rely on binoculars or simply viewing the roof from a window. However, with a drone, we’re able to see large, otherwise hidden sections of the roof and chimney in high definition. And in your inspection report, we include photos taken by the drone as well.
